In 1996 at Thanjavur, Arunmozhi Varman “Arul” has to leave his hometown after selling their ancestral properties, cutting ties with all of their relatives, except his uncle Sudalamuthu. In 2018, Arul has to return to his hometown because of his cousin, Bhuvana’s wedding. Arul meets a person there who refers to him as ‘athaan’; however, Arul does not remember who he is even after the latter reshares their childhood memories.
